One of the best premier league biographies I've ever read is Jamie Carragher's. The thing I love about Carragher's book is that he's totally honest - even in areas where you would expect him to hold back on (such as his thoughts on manager Rafael Benitez or his wife).
Each chapter in the book is dedicated to a different section in his life, and the book is not exactly in chronological order. Despite this, the book flows a lot better, and you can quickly and easily jump back to a section and find your favourite parts. For example, there's a chapter on England (and why he controversially retired from the England team), Istanbul (when Liverpool famously came back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 and win on penalties), his early days at Everton and so on.
My personal favourite chapter from the book is when he talks about them signing Didi Hamman for a record £7 million. He goes on to say how the team were celebrating on a night out in Germany before the start of the season, and they decided to call a cab to take them home. Instead of actually calling a cab, Didi decides to lie down in the road and hope that a car stops in front of him. He then goes on to offer the driver money to take them home.
By the end of the book you'll feel a real bond with Jamie, as you'll have felt like you've been there with him the whole way. The other thing I found was that Jamie really has a heart of gold, and from now on I'll be rooting for him the whole way. This really is a world class book from a world class player.
